Green labelling can be baffling. There are so many labels because they apply to different aspects of sustainability and eco-friendliness.

Some are internationally recognised, some are European, some are regional, and some are particular to individual countries. The labels on this page apply to different parts of the Bong product range.

We carry a variety of certifications because we’re a pan-European business operating in more than 20 markets, and we’ve acquired numerous businesses, each with its own history of green certification. Since there is no single, all-encompassing green standard, we seek certification and labelling on as many fronts and in as many regions as we can.

The first envelopes to carry the Carbon Reduction Label

Our most recent green award is the Carbon Reduction Label from the Carbon Trust. The label applies to our range of Tyvek® standard envelopes.

The Carbon Trust is an organisation that works with businesses to measure and reduce their carbon footprint. To be able to use the Carbon Reduction Label an organisation must measure the carbon footprint of a product throughout its entire life and have the footprint certified by the Carbon Trust Footprinting Certification Company. A commitment to reduce the footprint of that product must also be made. It helps buyers make responsible choices by giving them reliable whole-life carbon data.
